Experience as a gift: KNRTU students visited an excursion at “Sakhalin-2” project

The competition dedicated to the prospects of LNG industry development was held in spring at I. M. Gubkin Russian State University. It was participated by the winners of the correspondence stage-the eight best youth teams of Russian universities with projects for the development of Russian regions oil and gas sector. For the silver medalists of this competition“Sakhalin Energy” organized an excursion to the first LNG plant in Russia.
The HR team prepared a three-day program for the guests, during which they learnt not only about the “Sakhalin-2” project and were involved in the daily activities of the company, but also found out more about the island region features.
At a meeting with a process engineers team, students got acquainted with the specifics of office work, as well as received recommendations on their projects presented at the conference in Moscow. At the workplaces, “Sakhalin Energy” employees showed the students the programs used in the company and answered their questions. Since the guys are trained mainly in the specialty "Engineering technology", this meeting was especially useful and interesting for them, that’s why there were active discussions.
During the visit to the LNG plant, the guests visited the production area, the control centre and the laboratory, where their “initiation” to the oil workers was conducted. On the final day, the students passed individual interviews, during which the specialists of the HR Department gave them their recommendations.
"Looking at the enthusiastic faces of the guys, there was no doubt left that we managed to give them a unique experience. “We hope to see our guests among the trainees and employees of “Sakhalin Energy””- noted a leading specialist of the “Sakhalin Energy” HR Department Maria Nikolaeva.
